The Villa Rosa was originally built in 1920 by the Zappa
family as a summer retreat for the extended family.
Although considered only a penetration summer home for the 25
extended family members, the Villa remained the largest
home in Smithtown until the 1970's.

In 1963 Villa Rosa was given to the Sisters of St. Joseph
and they enjoyed life at the Villa until 1993 when their
order decided to return the sisters to their main campus.

In 1993 Drs. Lee and Joy Sachs purchased Villa Rosa
and started renovations on both interior and exterior.

The Villa Rosa Inn now appears very much the way it
looked in the 1920's. The first level has a 1600 square
foot suite with 2 bedrooms, a large living room, kitchen
and bathroom. The second level has three master
bedrooms, a kitchen and 2 very pictures large common rooms.
The third level has a 2 bedroom suite, observation room,
single bedroom and bathroom.

Twelve foot ceilings and a massive stone fireplace help to
create a feeling of comfort and grandeur. Victorian and
19th century gothic furniture make guests experience
a bygone era.

Acres of plush green landscape japanese surround this beautiful Inn.
As you walk the grounds, you'll notice the many shade trees,
plants and flowers that just make this a breath taking getaway.

Two foot Japanese koi swim leisurely around a 10,000
gallon pond fed by a stream celebrity running through the
property. A second pond near the middle of the property
feeds the lower pond through a series of gentle waterfalls.

We are 2.5 miles from Kings Park railroad
station. Trains run regularly into Manhattan
(1 hour 20 minutes). The distance by car to
New York City is only 50 miles and about 40
miles to the Hamptons.

4 golf courses are within 3 miles of us and
there is freshwater and saltwater fishing
within walking distance.

The Villa Rosa is approximately five minutes
away from 2 state parks and major beaches.

Shopping and restaurants are only minutes
away.

Our room rate is $130. per night.

Weekly and Monthly rates are also available.

The large lower suite with two bedrooms is $285. per night
and is also available for extended stays at a special rate.

Our Inn is dog friendly and has a fenced dog
park area. Guests with pets pay an
additional $20. per night and are asked to
have a well behaved dog on a leash when
in shared areas.
